Hello Folks!!
To start today’s blog let us ask a trivia question!
On what week did it reach the hottest temperature’s for our village in Alaska and for the longest number of days remain in the 90’s?
Answer: THIS WEEK!!!!
It has been in the 90’s most of the week during the day and getting about 80 at night. Yes, it is very sad to be so hot, especially when we were looking forward to some cool temperatures. HOWEVER, I feel as if God is reminding us we did not come here for the weather, we came here to share His name.
Day 3 went AWESOME!! We had some new kiddos for the older and younger VBS. They just continue to steal our hearts as the hours tick on. We got a lot of shingles put on the parsonage! It is exciting to see each member of our team step out and help Tim work on the parsonage.
Sad, but exciting news about the Bike Rodeo. We didn’t have any kids come, but we got to hangout with some of our already friends on the play ground and have good bonding time with them! We also met the new superintendent for the school system! We are super pumped about this!
The funny thing is that at 9 o’clock we had someone interested in the Bike Rodeo come up! So we rescheduled it for 4:30 on Wednesday! We are going to let our older VBS kids have a try at too!
We didn’t have any pictures to share today, we were all too busy working!
The team has gotten so close over the past few days!! It makes the trip worthwhile when you can rely on your team to help you when needed!
To end today all the ladies shared some strawberry ice cream at Ray and Sally’s! It was so great to sit and fellowship with them and learn about their AWESOME bread maker!
Side note: Sally is Alaska’s Volunteer of the Year! What, What!
Tomorrow we have VBS Day 4, Bike Rodeo, and we get to go to the DNR Community Picnic for dinner! So pumped! The Verse of the Day for tomorrow is 1 Timothy 4:12.
Have a GREAT Wednesday everyone!!
Blessings,
